A Bible story about Daniel.

Many years ago when Daniel had been in Babylon (which today is Iraq) for some time as an exile from Israel about 600BC. His name means "God is Judge'. Daniel had seen several Kings rule in the Country and the present King was Darius with whom he was on good terms and well respected.

Others who served in the government were jealous of Daniel and plotted against him - and so there was a PLOT - for thirty days no requests would be made to any other God or man except to King Darius. The King thought this was a good idea and all the people eventually were told.

The complaint against Daniel was because of his PRAYER LIFE - Reverent, Regular and for Real he kept faith in God.

Daniel was then arrested and cast into the den of lions, the PENALTY for breaking the law.

The King was so troubled and anxious and early in the morning he went to the lions den fully expecting that Daniel had died. To his amazement Daniel was alive and able to confirm that God saved him.

The King then made a PROCLAMATION to his nation that the God of Daniel was the greatest and ought to be worshipped by all.

Daniel retained his position and became well respected and honoured in the Kingdom.

Here is a song;

"Daniel was a man of prayer,
daily he prayed three times,
even when they had him cast in the den of lions,
in the den, in the den,
fears could not alarm him,
God just shut the lions mouth,
so they could not harm him."

A story about David.

You have read the story about Daniel haven't you?

well here is a story about David who was the youngest son of a large family. His name means "BELOVED".

David was better known as a shepherd boy but he was also  a skilled player of the harp and the writer of many songs.

In the Old Testament these songs are known as the Psalms of David.

Way back in history when David was alive life was very difficult with wars amongst the nations~~~~~

King Saul of Israel, the reigning Monarch at the time and his army were under constant threat of defeat by the Phillistines, who had a great champion called Goliath.

You will have heard the story of David and how he won the battle when he killed the giant Goliath with his sling and a small stone.

It was Davids victory over Goliath and the defeat of the Phillistines that made David so well known.

If we take the letters of DAVID'S name it tells us of his life and experiences to eventually become KING.

D   says that he was  "daring".

A    says that he was   "active".

V    says that he was   "victorious".

I     says that he was   "Inspiring".

D    says that he was   "devoted".
